Research

The Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) develops and promotes fundamental and applied research concerning with chemistry, physics and materials science focusing the efforts on several engineering applications. Many research areas merge expertise in nanoscience and nanotechnology with a strong interdisciplinary approach. From functional materials to micro and nanodevices, from quantum phenomena in condensed matter physics to computational biology and soft matter, from statistical and theoretical physics to particle physics, from energy harvesting to environmental monitoring, from biomaterials and biomedical devices to food and sustainable process engineering, from polymers and ceramic metals to composites engineering. The developed high quality research is evidenced through high impact factor publications and national/international projects coordinated by DISAT professors and researchers.

DISAT is actively pursuing different research lines through its different institutes.

Below links to the seven institutes of the department and to the list of active research areas are reported
