Short CV of Prof. Fausto Rossi
Fausto Rossi was born in Carpi (Italy) on 12/05/1962.Education: Laurea in Physics in 1988 at the University of Modena (110/110 cum Laude) and Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Parma in 1993.
Present appointment: Full Professor of Matter Physics at the Polytechnic University of Torino.
Prof. Rossi has published more than 150 research articles on high-impact international journals and books, with a research track record of about 20 years of activity and a publication H-factor of 34; he has been an invited lecturer at over 50 international conferences, workshops and schools, he has edited the volume "Semiconductor Macroatoms: Basic Physics and Quantum Device Applications" published by Imperial-College Press, and he is author of the book "Theory of Semiconductor Quantum Devices" recently published by Springer within the NanoScience&Technology Series.
Prof. Rossi has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Institute of Physics (IOP) and of the Semiconductor Commission of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP); he has been the Coordinator of the European Project "Semiconductor-based implementation of Quantum-Information-processing Devices (SQID)" within the "Future and Emerging Technologies (FET)" programme, and has been strongly involved in a number of national as well as international research projects.
His research activity, currently carried on within the Nanoscience Theory Lab (www.polito.it/NTL) includes: Quantum Theory of Solids, Interaction Effects in low-dimensional systems, Quantum Transport phenomena and mesoscopic physics, Electronic and optoelectronic devices at the nanoscale, Hybrid systems and carbon-based materials.
