Luigi Capozzi is a Ph.D. student in Chemical Engineering working in the Multiphase Systems and Chemical Engineering group at Politecnico di Torino. His research deals with continuous freeze-drying of pharmaceuticals, using both experimental and numerical approach. He obtained his M.Sc degree in Chemical Engineering in 2014 at Politecnico di Torino with a thesis work on mathematical modeling of freeze-drying of bulk solution and microparticles in packed-bed. In 2015 he was a Research Assistant at Politecnico di Torino and mainly worked on molecular encapsulation of ethylene in cyclodextrins, production of filled polymeric materials for gas control release. In the summer semester, he was visiting scholar at McGill University (Montreal, Canada), working on ultrafiltration membranes functionalized with polydopamine. In 2017 (fall semester), he was visiting Ph.D. student at MIT (Boston, USA), working on continuous freeze-drying of pharmaceuticals.
