Spectroscopy and surface characterization Laboratory

The Surface Characterization and Spectroscopy Lab is equipped with the necessary instrumentation for the analytical characterization of samples (food and non-food matrices) using various spectroscopic techniques.

Specifically, the laboratory is equipped with:

  • One FT-NIR spectrophotometer
  • One FTIR spectrometer coupled with a microscope (micro-FTIR)
  • One UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer
  • Two FT-IR spectrometers
  • One FTIR-ATR spectrometer

The laboratory also has a BET instrument that uses static gas adsorption to determine the surface area and porosity of solids and powders
