Biography

Marco Piumetti graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino in 2006. After a period of training and research at the Laboratoire de Réactivité de Surface of the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Sorbonne Université, Paris), he obtained the European PhD in Materials Science and Technology in 2010 at the Politecnico di Torino, where he also conducted subsequent post-doctoral research. Since 2019, Marco Piumetti has been an associate professor of Industrial Biochemistry in the Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering and Sustainable Processes at the Politecnico di Torino. His research activities are mainly focused on the study of nanostructured materials, natural zeolites and catalysis, with a particular emphasis on environmental applications for pollutants abatement and CO2 capture. Over the years, he has expanded his research activity to include enzymatic catalysis and the development of biosensors to identify potential anticancer drugs. His research, characterized by a multidisciplinary approach, reflects a constant dedication to innovation and sustainability.
