Biography

Hi everyone! My name is Ilaria Corvaglia, and I am a PhD student. My studies took place in Turin, where I was born. My interest in how things work and my curiosity about new things developed from an early age and was settled in high school. The university career then continued at the Polytechnic of Turin, where I graduated in Biomedical Engineering in the three-year course. The interest in the world of the 'small' prompted me to undertake the path of Bionanotechnology during the years of the master's degree. The approach to the research was during the master thesis, which I had the pleasure of carrying out in the United Kingdom, in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Having the opportunity and the pleasure of working in contact with young people full of ideas in a European project, where many realities meet, stimulated me to follow my curiosity and decide that research would be my path. Now I am a PhD student at the Polytechnic of Turin in Bioengineering and Medical-Surgical Sciences, and I deal with bone regeneration following tumour resection of osteosarcoma. I find this work fascinating even if full of pitfalls, but the personal satisfactions that derive from it manage to be superior to any difficulty.
