Federica Bondioli is Full Professor of Materials Science and Technology at the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT), Politecnico di Torino (I).
For 2020-2023 period she has been appointed President of theNational Consortium for Materials Science and Technology (INSTM) by the University representatives on the Board of Directors.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Association for Materials Science and Technology (AIMAT) for 2017-2021 period.
She has graduated in Chemistry in 1995 at the Università degli Studi di Modena. She has achieved the Doctorate in Chemical Sciences in 1999.
With regard to her research activity, she is author or co-author of more than 160 scientific papers in international journals and her research activity has concerned functional and structural ceramic materials, mainly for building use, functional coatings and nanomaterials. Recently her research interests have shifted towards the development of innovative materials for additive manufacturing technologies.
She has been principal investigator of many national and international research projects and is currently PI, for the DISAT Department, of the PISCO “PIedmont Space Components” regional project (Avio Spa as first proponent); and of the IMPACT "Implementation of CompetiTive Additive Production" regional project (Prima Industrie Spa as first proponent).
In the field of technology transfer, she has been and is principal investigator of different research projects with national and international partners linked to the traditional ceramic sector (Marazzi Group, Ceramiche Polis, Metco, Inco, Rhodia, Expert System Solutions ...) and to additive manufacturing (Prima Industrie, 3DNT…). She is one of the founders of the spin-off MAT3D which deals with the development of innovative photocurable resins for DLP and SLA additive manufacturing technologies.
