Research activity focused on small molecule crystallization & formulation processes for food, agrochemical and pharmaceutical applications. The laboratory was funded by the European Research Council to support the CryForm Starting Grant (GA 9492289) led by Elena Simone.

  • Crystal16 (Technobis), equipped with 16 temperature controlled reactors, with integrated turbidity measurements. Suitable for solubility measurements and screening of solid forms in various solvents, operating at working volumes of 1 mL.
  • Crystal Breeder (Technobis), multi-reactor crystallization platform for medium-throughput solid-state research, operating at working volumes of 0.1 mL. Real time turbidity readings for 32 parallel temperature and pressure controlled experiments.
  • LabRam Horiba confocal microscope with laser wavelengths of 532 nm, 633 nm, 785 nm and 1064 nm. SuperHead fiber immersion probe (785 nm laser)and cuvette measurement accessory.
  • Crystallization setups of 100mL, 500 mL and 1L volume, with controlled temperature (Huber Ministat 230) and in situ turbidity measurement (Optek).
  • Polarized microscope (Zeiss)
  • Linkam hot stage, with temperature range -25°C - 125°C
  • Ultraturrax equipment for emulsification
  • Fumehood suitable for flammable solvents
