Institute of Materials Physics and Engineering

Mission of the Institute of Materials Physics and Engineering  is to promote synergy between basic science and technology in the field of Materials Physics and Engineering.
Expertise ranging from materials physics and chemistry, materials properties, characterization, functionalization, production and testing in working condition is available.
Several  state-of-the-art facilities allow the preparation and testing of different materials, such as metals, superconductors, magnetic materials, glasses, glass-ceramics, ceramics and their composites, as bulk-, fibres-, porous-, coating- or joining materials.
Dissemination is guaranteed by papers published on international peer reviewed journals, active participation to international conferences, intensive cooperation with large and small-medium companies. Problem solving and custom training activity are directly agreed with industrial customers.
Training of students, PhD and post-doc  students is an important part of our mission.
